Psychology of Social Media
In modern culture and technology, everyone
uses social media. In terms of the human mind, it can be defined as a
"digital space" (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram) in which users have
control over social interactions and personal experiences. The social thinking
mentality shows that the Internet has become the backbone of society in many
countries. Almost 80% of people in the world spend most of their time using
their mobiles and other digital devices. Either way, browse the internet or
look for notifications.
News consumption on social media is a double-edged
sword. On the one hand, there is low cost, easy access, and rapid dissemination
of information that allows people to search and consume information with the
help of social media platforms. On the other hand, it leads to the dissemination
of false information, such as less relevant and inaccurate information. It has
negative effects that can negatively affect individuals and communities.
Someone who has nearly grown up with Facebook
and Instagram, lately I've been experiencing not only people's generosity, but
also the impact of social media has on
the human mind, consciously and unconsciously. As I became more aware of the
drawbacks of pronunciation alone, I began to notice patterns everywhere. This
curiosity has increased by observing people’s behaviors online.
I think a lot of our online behavior, it affects our emotions, especially when we have low self-esteem and other certain tendencies like anxiety, stress, and depression, which means we need compliments.
